Grade one, two and three students from Peardonville Elementary School, along with their teacher Karen Hutcheon, test out the newly created crosswalk outside the school in May 1978. Heavy traffic was a cause of concern for both parents and teachers alike who decided that the creation of a crosswalk was the most appropriate course of action. Principal Ruth Klassen noted that overall response to the crosswalk was positive.
