A behind the net photo of the Bantam B exhibition game between 100 Mile House and the Matsqui-Abbotsford host team on Saturday, January 20, 1979. Jock Goeson’s team hosted a squad from 100 Mile House for three exhibitions. Fraserway won 2-1, 5-3 and 5-1 in fast, clean games. The first game was deadlocked at one apiece when Ron Appeldoorn scored the winning goal with 42 seconds remaining. Abbotsford’s first goal was by Rollie Vos. The second game saw Abby win 5-3, outshooting the visitors 31-26. Joey Germain scored two goals with Kornelsen, Craig Allert and David Appeldoorn rounding out Abbotsford’s scoring. The third game saw Abby win 5-1, but 100 Mile House ruined the shutout with only 1:46 seconds remaining. Fraserway’s goals were by Germain with two, Fred Redekop, James Braun and Ron Appeldoorn. Bill Molnar and Bruce Craven shared the goalie’s duties as Abbotsford outshot 100 Mile House 32-20. Image not published.
