Reverend Lyle and Anita Wahl pose for a photo for the ASM News. After a nine-month period without a senior pastor, Grace Church called Rev. Lyle L. Wahl of Gresham, Oregon, to their pastorate. He was installed Sunday afternoon at 2:30 p.m., January 28, 1979. Rev. Frank C. Wiens, pastor at large for the Evangelical Mennonite Brethren conference officiated the service. Wahl came to Abbotsford from the Portland area, where he had been taught and preached the last several years. Previously he ministered Hoodland Chapel in Wemme, Oregon, immediately after graduating from Western Baptist Seminary in 1971. His wife, Anita, was a clinical social worker and the daughter of C.H. Penner of Abbotsford. The couple had two boys, Rick, 14 and Alexander, 2. Image not published.
